Introduction
Whenever a book is analysed in class, a prior contextualisation should be done. This plan provides this contextualisation, made by the teacher and a pupil.
Learning Objectives
- To promote conditions for good reading comprehension
- Increase the student's interest in the book they are about to read
- To involve students in their learning
Process
.The events narrated in the book take place in the period of Greek civilization and with much reference to mythology and in a previous conversation it was noticed that one student of the class was a fan of mythology and read a lot about it. Before the lesson : To engage students in learning, students was challenged to: . the fan of mitology prepare a presentation about the Greek gods, especially those mentioned in book "Ulisses". . other student prepare the author biography . other student prepare the analyse of the book's front cover and back cover In class: . Students contextualise the book and analyse the paratextual elements, based on their research and readings . Teacher complete the contextualisation with some important information and proposing the analysis of a text and some images about Greece and the Greek civilization.
